AUGUST 2023

Member of the Month:
Rose Boram Spence

Rose Boram Spence has lived in Kennedale, Texas, with her family for the past 14 years. After retiring from her previous job, Rose became a school bus driver to have more time to care for her beloved husband, Mack Spence, a Vietnam War veteran.

Tragically, both her husband and brother, who shared their household bills, passed away in the same year. This sudden loss put Rose in a challenging financial situation, and she found herself living paycheck to paycheck.

However, Rose knew she could rely on Texas Trust for help. Years earlier, Rose received a low-interest credit card through the credit union when other financial institutions turned her down. Thankfully, Texas Trust once again came to her aid, providing her with a personal loan to consolidate her debts. Not only did this loan come with a more comfortable term, but she's also now saving around $200 a month. Having overcome her financial challenges, Rose has regained the confidence to handle her debt and bills independently.

“They helped me out a whole lot. So now I'm back to where I think in another year or two, I can retire,” she states. Rose’s financial journey with Texas Trust doesn't stop there. She plans to take advantage of our many other convenient and serviceable financial products. "They've always been there for me. The next thing I’d like to do with Texas Trust is get an auto loan,” Rose says.

Instead of stressing over bills, Rose now spends her days helping her grandson prepare for his wedding in September and relaxing at home with her adorable schnauzer puppy, Yadi. Members like Rose know that Texas Trust is here to support them through the most difficult financial hardships.
